May 14-29, 2007 - Book Donation Drive for Focus Hope
Student Government collected 706 books and 2 DVDs for Focus Hope. The books will be used for Focus Hope which is a civil and human rights organization based in Detroit with other locations in the metro area. Their mission is to use intelligent and practical action to fight racism, poverty and injustice. They have several programs to help the community. They include: food program, education and training in IT, community arts programs, manufacturing operation, and much more.
September 16, 2006- End of Semester Gathering
Students chatted over coffee as they celebrated the end of the semester.
May 20, 2006 - Commencement
Thank you to those students who volunteered at the commencement ceremony. The event would not have been a success without your help! The International Club won $50 for having the most volunteers and Josh Bennett won the $50 raffle drawing.
February 24, 2006 - Bowling Fundraiser
Thank you to those who participated in the bowling fundraiser. Everyone had a wonderful time. A few were unable to attend, but still made a donation and that was greatly appreciated. We raised a total of $243! Student Government will be able to continue offering great opportunities to students and the money will be used to host future events!
February 1, 2006 - Home Buying Seminar
Home buying seminar had approximately 20 attendees. The seminar covered topics such as: the top 5 reasons why young Metro-Detroit people are buying and how to save money on a first home purchase. Students found that the session was very informative and resourceful.
December 10, 2005 - End of Semester Bash @ Woody’s
End of semester bash @ Woody’s held around 25 people. Everyone had a great time chatting, making new friends, and dancing.
October 13, 2005 - Home Buying Seminar
The home buying seminar had approximately 20 attendees. The seminar covered topics such as: the top 5 reasons why young Metro-Detroit people are buying and how to save money on a first home purchase. Students found that the session was very informative and resourceful.
November 12, 2005 - Constitution Day
Constitution day hosted 122 people. Before the event began, guests munched on hors d’oeuvres and mingled with fellow students. The event featured guest speakers Dick DeVos and Dr. Jerry Zanstra.
